Residents of Bengaluru should prepare for a significant water supply interruption tomorrow, as the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has declared a 15-hour outage affecting various neighborhoods. This disruption is scheduled to occur on Friday, July 31, from 6 AM to 9 PM, due to urgent repairs needed on the Cauvery Stage V Water Supply Scheme pipeline. The BWSSB has identified a leak in the scour valve of the large 3,000-mm transmission pipeline, necessitating the temporary suspension of water services to ensure the safety and integrity of the water supply system.
The BWSSB has communicated that the pumping station responsible for delivering water through the Cauvery Stage V network will be non-operational during the repair period. This will impact numerous areas that rely on this facility for their water needs. Residents in the affected regions are encouraged to take proactive measures by storing enough water ahead of the scheduled outage. The civic body has emphasized the importance of conserving water during this time to ensure that everyone has access to the necessary supply until normal services are restored.
