A private healthcare facility in Panipat, Haryana, is facing scrutiny following the tragic death of a woman who was reportedly subjected to an unauthorized heart procedure while being treated for a fractured leg. The incident has sparked outrage among the public and raised serious questions about medical ethics and patient consent. The woman, identified as Guddi Devi, was admitted to Park Hospital on July 24 after suffering injuries from a road accident. Her family believed she was receiving appropriate orthopedic care for her leg injury, but they were blindsided by the subsequent events that unfolded during her hospital stay.
According to the allegations made by Guddi Devi's family, they were informed post-surgery that a heart stent had been implanted without their knowledge or consent. Her son, Kuldeep, expressed his disbelief and anger, claiming that they were not consulted about any heart-related issues prior to the procedure. He further alleged that the signatures on the consent form for the cardiac intervention were forged, raising serious concerns about the hospital's practices. The family contends that they were not made aware of any urgent heart condition that would necessitate such a procedure, and they only discovered what had transpired after it was too late.
