A disturbing murder case has emerged from Jamnagar, Gujarat, where the remains of a man reported missing for almost two years were discovered buried in a factory shed. The victim, identified as Jignesh Mavadiya, was allegedly killed by his wife, Pruthviben, along with her lover and an accomplice. The shocking revelation came to light when Pruthviben confessed to the crime during police inquiries. The investigation began after Jignesh's elder brother, Ashok Mavadiya, filed a complaint regarding his brother's unexplained absence. For nearly two years, the family had been misled by Pruthviben, who claimed that Jignesh had traveled to Australia for work and was unreachable. However, as the family became increasingly suspicious due to her evasive responses about his whereabouts, they decided to take action. A relative's warning to Pruthviben about involving the police prompted her to admit to the murder, stating that Jignesh had been killed almost two years prior.
Following the confession, the City 'B' Division Police initiated a thorough investigation into the case. Reports indicate that Jignesh was murdered in May 2024, with cyanide allegedly mixed into his alcoholic beverage. Authorities believe that the crime was orchestrated by his wife, Pruthviben, her lover Nilesh Mansukhbhai Kachhatiya, and another individual named Balveer Deviram Verma. After committing the heinous act, the trio reportedly dug a deep pit in the factory shed located in Dared GIDC, where they buried Jignesh's body in an attempt to hide their crime. As part of the investigation, police exhumed a human skeleton from the site, which has been sent for a post-mortem examination to confirm its identity and gather further evidence against the accused.
