Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL) has disclosed a substantial consolidated net loss of Rs 1,160.23 crore for the quarter ending June 30, 2026. This financial setback is primarily linked to an exceptional charge of Rs 2,644.02 crore, which was incurred as a result of a settlement with the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). The company revealed that it had reached an agreement with OFAC on May 14, 2026, and subsequently paid $275 million, which translates to Rs 2,644.02 crore. This payment has been categorized as an exceptional item in their financial statements. In comparison, the company had reported a loss of Rs 885.23 crore during the same period last year, highlighting a significant deterioration in financial performance year-on-year.
In terms of operational performance, Adani Enterprises experienced a notable increase in revenue, which surged by 49.9 percent year-on-year, reaching Rs 32,923.98 crore in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2026-27 (Q1FY27), up from Rs 21,961.20 crore in the previous year. However, despite this increase in revenue, the company’s profit before tax saw a decline of 11.7 percent, falling to Rs 1,294.64 crore from Rs 1,466.28 crore. The impact of the OFAC charge was significant, leading to a loss before tax of Rs 1,349.38 crore. This indicates that while the company is generating more revenue, it is also facing substantial costs that are affecting its profitability.
