Jadumani Singh, representing India, kicked off his Commonwealth Games 2026 journey with a commanding victory over local favorite Aaron Cullen in the men's 55kg boxing category. The bout, held in Glasgow, showcased Singh's technical prowess and tactical acumen, as he outclassed Cullen to secure a unanimous decision victory. Previously, Singh faced the challenge of consistently cutting weight to compete in the 50kg division, often shedding around 10 kilograms before each match. This rigorous weight management not only drained his physical strength but also affected his mental state and recovery. However, moving up to the 55kg category has proven beneficial for Singh, allowing him to maintain his strength while competing at a more comfortable weight. "I was confident that I could do well in 55kg. Now I've had the experience of two-three competitions in this category and become the champion.
