Ajinkya Rahane, a seasoned cricketer from India, has officially declared his retirement from international cricket, marking the end of an illustrious career that spanned over a decade. The announcement was made on Thursday, with the 38-year-old stating that he believes it is the appropriate moment for him to transition away from the international scene. Rahane's journey in cricket began in 2013, and since then, he has made significant contributions to the Indian cricket team across various formats, including Tests, One Day Internationals (ODIs), and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
Throughout his career, Rahane participated in a total of 85 Test matches, 90 ODIs, and 20 T20Is, showcasing his versatility and skill on the field. His last appearance for the national team was during the Test series against the West Indies in 2023, after which he has not been selected for any international fixtures.
