Rahul Gandhi Criticizes RSS Influence on Education in Lok Sabha Debate

In a heated session of the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition, launched a fierce critique against the central government, particularly targeting the influence of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) over the education sector. This discussion arose in the context of a recent student protest that took place in the national capital, which Gandhi argued was a clear indication of the growing unrest among the youth regarding educational policies. His remarks, however, were met with immediate backlash from members of the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), who interrupted him as he sought to elaborate on his points during the debate on The Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill-2026.

During his address, Gandhi categorized individuals into three distinct groups: students, those who possess an inflated sense of knowledge, and what he termed “andhbhakts,” or blind followers, who blindly accept the views of the second group. This characterization was intended as a critique of the ruling party and its supporters, suggesting a disconnect between the government and the student body. The ruling party's members reacted vocally to his statements, prompting Gandhi to assert that he was being obstructed from voicing his opinions. He further claimed that the former Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, was merely a figurehead, asserting that the real authority within the Education Ministry lay with the RSS, an organization he accused of manipulating the educational framework of the country.
