In a rather peculiar incident in the Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh, a truck driver named Vipin Kumar made headlines after he reported a bizarre theft at the local police station. Arriving in a lungi, which is a traditional garment, he claimed that his trousers had mysteriously disappeared while he was asleep. The incident unfolded when Kumar, originally from Auraiya district in Uttar Pradesh, recounted how he had handed over his truck to its owner, indulged in a few drinks, and subsequently fell asleep. Upon waking, he was shocked to discover that not only his trousers were missing, but also Rs 1,500 in cash, his Aadhaar card, and his driving license. His unusual attire and the nature of his complaint quickly caught the attention of the officers on duty.
As reported by the Times of India, Kumar's account posed a challenge for the police. He was still inebriated and struggled to remember the details of the night before, including where he had actually fallen asleep or the location of the supposed theft. This left the officers in a difficult position, as they were faced with a case involving a missing pair of trousers without any clear crime scene or evidence to investigate. Despite his insistence on recovering his belongings, the police realized that Kumar was too intoxicated to provide any substantial information that could lead to the recovery of his items. His repeated requests for assistance only added to the unusual nature of the situation.
