New Toll System on Gurugram-Jaipur Highway Starts August 1

Starting August 1, commuters traveling along the Gurugram-Jaipur corridor on National Highway 48 (NH-48) will experience a significant change in the way tolls are collected. The entire stretch will transition to a barrier-free toll collection system, allowing vehicles to pass through without stopping at toll plazas. This upgrade is part of the implementation of the Multi Lane Free Flow (MLFF) tolling system, which will be activated at the Shahjahanpur toll plaza in Rajasthan, marking the completion of this technology across the 270-kilometer route connecting Gurugram and Jaipur. Prior to this, the Daulatpura and Manoharpura toll plazas had already been upgraded to the MLFF system, enabling seamless travel for motorists along this busy corridor.

The MLFF system is designed to enhance the efficiency of toll collection by utilizing advanced technology. It employs high-performance Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) readers and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras to identify vehicles as they approach the toll gantry. As a vehicle passes through, the system automatically deducts the toll fee from the linked FASTag account, allowing for uninterrupted travel. With the Shahjahanpur toll plaza now joining the network, drivers can traverse the entire Gurugram-Jaipur stretch without the inconvenience of stopping at any toll booth. Furthermore, once the Kukrola toll plaza is upgraded to the MLFF system, the entire Delhi-Jaipur corridor on NH-48 will also become barrier-free, further enhancing the travel experience.
