Bollywood Star Kirti Kulhari Victim of Cyber Fraud, Loses Rs 2.4 Lakh

Kirti Kulhari, a prominent figure in Bollywood, has recently become a victim of cyber fraud, resulting in a loss of Rs 2,43,852. The actress, known for her roles in various films and her recent work as a producer, reported the incident to the Mumbai police after discovering unauthorized transactions on her credit card. The fraudsters managed to gain access to her mobile phone and credit card information, executing significant transactions in a matter of minutes. The incident has raised concerns about the security of personal information in the digital age, especially for public figures like Kulhari who are often targeted by cybercriminals.

The incident unfolded while Kulhari was at the Cinepolis theatre located near Fun Republic Mall in Andheri West, Mumbai. She received an alert regarding a suspicious transaction of $2,525 made to Aeromexico, which prompted her immediate action. Without delay, she contacted her bank's toll-free helpline to report the unauthorized activity. Upon investigation, bank officials confirmed that multiple transactions had been made using her credit card without her consent. In response to the alarming situation, her credit card was promptly blocked to prevent further unauthorized use. The actress emphasized that her credit card details, including the password, were confidential and had not been shared with anyone, leading to suspicions that her phone may have been compromised through malware or spyware.
