Congress leader Rahul Gandhi intensified his criticism of the Indian government on Saturday, asserting that discussions are underway within Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Cabinet regarding the potential reassignment of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to a different ministry. This assertion comes in the wake of widespread protests triggered by the recent leak of the NEET-UG examination papers, which has raised significant concerns among students and parents alike. Gandhi's remarks were made during a press conference held in Delhi, where he did not hold back in his condemnation of Pradhan, labeling him as both 'corrupt and incompetent.'
During the press briefing, Gandhi expressed his discontent with the current state of the education system in India, claiming that it has been effectively 'hijacked' under Pradhan's leadership. He emphasized that the ongoing issues within the education sector are symptomatic of broader systemic failures. 'We are receiving information from within the government that there are discussions taking place regarding the possibility of moving Dharmendra Pradhan from the Education Ministry to another role. This is simply unacceptable to the students of India and to the general populace,' he stated emphatically. Gandhi further elaborated that Pradhan's potential relocation would not address the fundamental problems plaguing the education system, which he views as critical to the future of the nation’s youth.
