Delhi Police Claims Nearly 3,000 Criminals at CJP Protest

The Delhi Police have unveiled a detailed report alleging that a significant number of individuals with criminal backgrounds participated in the recent protest organized by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar. According to the dossier, which includes police records and photographs, over 2,800 individuals with prior criminal records were identified among the protesters. This information has been submitted to Parliament for review. The police are currently investigating whether any of these individuals were involved in the violent incidents that occurred during the protests, which took place from January 20 to January 25.

Utilizing advanced technology such as Facial Recognition System (FRS), the police have pinpointed 2,873 individuals with criminal histories who were present at the protest site. Authorities are now scrutinizing their activities and potential connections to the violence reported in central Delhi during this period. Among those identified, 989 individuals are said to have been involved in serious crimes categorized as heinous offences. This alarming figure includes 101 individuals linked to murder, 62 to attempted murder, 284 to robbery or dacoity, and 61 to rape. Additionally, the dossier highlights six individuals accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 25 for molestation, 229 for violations of the Arms Act, 135 for snatching, 19 for kidnapping, and 67 for drug-related offences under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
