NEET UG 2026 Counseling Revamped: Online Seat Upgrades Introduced

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has unveiled significant changes to the NEET UG 2026 counseling process, introducing a new online seat upgrade feature aimed at enhancing convenience for candidates. This innovative approach allows students who are granted an upgraded seat in subsequent counseling rounds to complete the entire process digitally, eliminating the need for physical reporting to the assigned college. This shift not only saves students from the hassle of travel and associated costs but also streamlines administrative procedures, making the overall experience more efficient and user-friendly.

In addition to the online seat upgrade, the MCC has implemented a digital seat resignation option. This facility permits candidates to relinquish or resign from their assigned seats through the counseling portal, negating the necessity for in-person visits to the institutions. This enhancement is anticipated to provide greater flexibility in the counseling process and significantly reduce the amount of paperwork traditionally involved, thus simplifying the experience for all participants.
