Google has recently rolled out a major update for its Gemini application designed for macOS, marking a significant advancement in how users can interact with their devices. This update arrives at a crucial moment, positioning itself as a direct competitor to both Apple's AI offerings and ChatGPT, as it allows users to communicate with Gemini without the need to open a dedicated chat window. Instead, users can engage with the app from any active window on their Mac, streamlining the process of dictation and interaction.

This action activates a function known as Intelligent Dictation, which is enabled by default.
