Deadly Attack on Police Checkpoint in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Claims Lives of 7 Officers

A tragic assault on a police checkpoint in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan resulted in the deaths of seven police officers, including a deputy superintendent of police (DSP), while eight militants were also reported killed during the incident. This violent encounter unfolded at the Khazina Banda police checkpost located in Hangu district, where armed militants launched an attack against the security personnel stationed there, as detailed by local media sources including Geo News. District Police Officer (DPO) Tariq Habib confirmed the details of the incident, emphasizing the severity of the attack and its implications for local law enforcement.

In addition to the fatalities, the assault left at least 22 police officers injured, among whom was DSP Mujahid Hussain. Following the attack, a comprehensive clearance operation was initiated in the vicinity to neutralize any remaining threats and to secure the area. DPO Habib reported that during the ensuing firefight, eight militants were killed, while six others sustained injuries.
