WhatsApp Introduces Audio and Video Calling via Web Browser

This innovative addition eliminates the necessity of downloading a dedicated desktop application, making it more convenient for users to connect with others. According to an announcement made on the WhatsApp blog, the web calling capability supports both individual and group calls. Users can also take advantage of features like screen sharing, reactions, and a dedicated tab for managing call history and favorites. This development is particularly beneficial for individuals who may be using shared computers, work laptops that restrict app downloads, or those who simply prefer the ease of using a browser for their communications.

In addition to the web calling feature, WhatsApp has rolled out a 'call transfer' functionality. This allows users to seamlessly switch an ongoing group call from one device to another, such as moving a call from a mobile phone to a desktop, without the need to disconnect and re-establish the connection.
