Ukrainian Drone Strikes Ignite Fires at Russian Industrial Sites

Recent drone strikes launched by Ukraine have targeted industrial facilities in the western Russian city of Ryazan, leading to significant fires and prompting the evacuation of local warehouses operated by the major retailer Wildberries. According to regional authorities, Ryazan's Governor Pavel Malkov reported that 45 drones were intercepted over the region during the night on Tuesday. The debris from these intercepted drones resulted in a fire within an industrial zone, which also caused damage to a residential building. Six individuals sustained injuries and were subsequently hospitalized, as detailed in a message shared by Malkov on the social media platform Telegram.

This incident is part of a broader escalation in Ukraine's offensive against Russian industrial sites, particularly those linked to Wildberries, which Ukraine accuses of providing logistical support to the Russian military. In recent days, drone attacks have reportedly damaged at least seven warehouses belonging to Wildberries, resulting in the destruction of approximately 10% of the company's storage capabilities. This disruption has had a cascading effect on operations, adversely impacting tens of thousands of small businesses that rely on the platform for selling their goods and services, as indicated by both the company and local officials.
