In a recent social media post, Ira Khan, the daughter of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, opened up about her emotional response to the ongoing student protests related to the NEET paper leak. The protests have garnered significant attention, with numerous celebrities, including Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Ananya Panday, and Sara Ali Khan, expressing their support for the students. Some of these stars even participated in the Chalo Sansad march held on July 20, showcasing their solidarity with the cause. However, Ira has chosen to remain silent on the issue until now, revealing the reasons behind her decision in a candid video shared on her Instagram account.
In her heartfelt message, Ira admitted that she felt overwhelmed after seeing a video of her cousin's potential detention during one of the protests. She explained that her initial reaction was one of panic, stating, "I freaked out" when she learned about her cousin's situation. Once she confirmed her cousin's safety, Ira returned to her work, emphasizing that her emotional state had prevented her from engaging with the protests more actively. She reflected on her approach to news consumption, noting that she often avoids distressing content. "I usually don't look at it. I don't go to my explore page, I have not seen any videos of violence or any videos of the protest," she explained, highlighting her struggle to process the emotional weight of such events. Ira expressed that her lack of engagement was not due to apathy but rather a protective measure for her mental well-being.
